"Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place."

not your typical lifestyle blog.png

Hey hi hello!

I'm a compulsive writer, creative strategist, and experience junkie currently eating my way through New York City and seeking the meaning of life (among other things).

some of my favorite things

Reading, traveling, cats, jasmine tea, clever microcopy, minimalist design, vintage slang, logic puzzles, good ramen, short poetry, miniature desserts, bar trivia, portmanteaus, dark lipsticks, and comfy cardigans.

some of my core beliefs

The best things are beautiful, intentional, useful, and inspiring

The Oxford comma is essential

The secret to being an interesting person is to read more + indulge your curiosity

Happiness is waking up in a different country

Design makes the details

Good skincare is universally necessary

You have to learn the rules to better break them

Intentional language creates mental framework

Self-care is the new engagement ring

some final thoughts

I've always thought the term "lifestyle blog" was unsatisfying. Sometimes lifestyle blogs are more aspirational than factual. But this is a lifestyle blog because it is unequivocally and unapologetically about life; on exploring equal parts aestheticism and imperfection, on learning what it means to be alive and to be human. Life is messy and imperfect, and that’s the beauty of it. And I want that to be a primary focus of this blog rather than an asterisk or an admittance of flaws.

I couldn't find any other lifestyle blogs like this, so I wrote one; a way for me to indulge my own curiosities and share my thoughts about the things I’m passionate about—the places I travel, the food I make, the things I read, and the little things that keep me awake at night.
